BEGINNERS MAKEUP GUIDE

BEGINNERS MAKEUP GUIDE

With so many products in the market I know its very overwhelming, especially when every brands are releasing new products every month! Nothing can be more stressful than trying to shop for makeup when you are trying to just step in the world of makeup. With tons and tons of different products on the market, I know how hard it is to actually shop for makeup. So, if  you’re new to the makeup world I’ve got you covered. Keep on reading to find out the beginners makeup guide!

BASE

Let’s talk about the base first. I don’t recommend a full coverage foundation who are relatively new to makeup. A lightweight foundation is all what you need. I love the Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation for its weightless finish which creates a perfect, natural look. You can also apply a second layer for more coverage. For concealer the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer is amazing. Always remember to set the concealer with a setting powder like Hourglass Cosmetics Veil Translucent Setting Powder. I suggest not to contour your face but just bronze to add some warmth on your face. My favorite one is from Marc Jacobs. I feel every makeup bag needs to have a blush, preferably a nude rosy blush. And of course, a highlighter! Becca’s Champagne Pop is my favorite. Remember to set your face with a setting spray after all your makeup is done (which is explained below). My go-to is All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray from Urban Decay.

EYES

When it comes to the eyes, opt for a versatile eyeshadow palette. You want to find a palette that has variety of colors including both matte and shimmers. You also want to make sure that it can be used for everything from natural everyday looks to complete wedding glam. The Urban Decay – Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette checks all the boxes. There are 21 shades for every possible eye look, from neutral to smoky and bright to sultry. And lastly, mascara is an essential for everyone. The Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara is my long-time favorite. Talking about eyes, I would like to suggest to get an tinted eyebrow gel instead of a pomade or a pencil. Milk Makeup Kush Fiber Brow Gel is my current favorite.

LIPS

Nude and Red! These two color are a must have in your vanity. Nudes compliment everyday looks while Reds does add a extra glam. Remember every nude color doesn’t look good in every skin tone so, try to look for a nude color that compliments your skin tone. And for the red, you can’t go wrong with the Mac Ruby Woo.

BRUSHES

Of Course, you need a makeup tool to apply your products. Instead of buying a individual brush, get your hands on a set of a brush which includes a variety of face as well as an eyeshadow brush. I do have tons of brushes but MorpheXJaclyn brush sets has been a favorite.
